Teammates,
May proved to be an incredibly productive month, and I want to thank you all for your hard work and dedication.
Some important updates and guidance:
Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Season
It’s PCS Season, and IPPS-A is here to help!
IPPS-A is the system of record for personnel accountability, so proper planning and use of the system will ensure we execute accurate and timely arrivals/departures, orders, awards, slotting, and assignments, and prevent Failure to Lose (FTL)/Failure to Gain (FTG) discrepancies.
Utilize IPPS-A’s resources to learn and execute the proper procedures for PCS absence submissions — this will ensure a successful transition to Members’ new duty stations and receipt of the appropriate pay and benefits.
IPPS-A’s PCS resources page — including the PCS Member Overview and HR Pro Overview guides — can be found at:
https://ipps-a.army.mil/Drive-the-Change/PCS-Season/.
IPPS-A has the tools to help Soldiers make it as smooth as possible.
Engage your arsenal!
Leader’s Dashboard
Have you used the IPPS-A Leader’s Dashboard yet?
This exciting new tool allows Leaders of all echelons and Military Occupational Specialties (MOSs) to easily and rapidly see a snapshot of their Soldiers’ deployability, personnel readiness, and accountability.
This dashboard helps Leaders focus on data analysis (rather than creating and maintaining their own tools) and allows organizations to focus on training and readiness (rather than spending time collecting data).
You can access the dashboard here:
https://hr.ippsa.army.mil/sabir/leader/main/leader-dashboard.
We will continue to use feedback from the field to improve the dashboard. If you have an idea our team can use to improve this tool, please submit your input using the QR code (below) or at the link here:

New Readiness Reporting Enhancements
Our recent system update has significantly improved how IPPS-A manages deployment restrictions and Commander Waivers — improving readiness reporting, policy alignment, and field visibility.
The system now clearly shows which restrictions require a waiver, allowing ease of process for Commander Waiver Tracking. This update also ensures nondeployable Logic status updates are now accurate based on profiles, flags, and admin actions. These updates ensure that waiver logic is aligned with Army policy.
Here’s what this means for you:
- Commanders: Get clearer visibility on waivers and improved accountability.
- HR Professionals: Directly apply waivers in the system and track restrictions more easily.
- Soldiers: Get faster, more accurate updates on their deployability status.
Input from our Warfighters in the field directly led to these enhancements, making a big difference in how the Army tracks Soldier deployability in IPPS-A!
Remember: Complete Commander medical overrides in MEDPROS, they will feed IPPS-A. Complete admin Commander overrides in IPPS-A, all will feed to NetUSR and create a common sight picture.
Thank you all for your continued support and feedback.
Terminal/Transition Absence Request
When submitting a Terminal/Transition Absence Request, users may receive a message indicating “no separation assignment found.” This message is just a warning and
does not stop the ability for this transition absence to be approved for separation.
Please stay tuned for updates and thank you for your patience.
DD Form 214 Series Update
The DD Form 214 Series is now in IPPS-A! Please make sure to review the helpful tips below while working the forms in IPPS-A.
Initiating a DD Form 214 and 214-1:
- Active Duty: To initiate a DD Form 214 for a Service Member, the separation assignment must be in an Approved status. DO NOT DEPART the Member from their Permanent (PERM) to the Separation (SEP) assignment.
- Reserve Component: For a TEMP/SEP assignment, the assignment must be in either an Arrived, Approved, or Departed status for the DD Form 214 and 214-1 to be initiated to the User Defined List (UDL).
Use Customer Relationship Management (CRM) (IT) to process DD Form 214 UDL Maintenance:
- If you need to add or remove members from a UDL, users must submit a CRM case to the DD Form 214 Provider Group.
- Create a case using:
- Category: DD-214
- Type: UDL Maintenance
- Detail: Add/Remove User
As a reminder, the DD Form 214 Series in IPPS-A is the process moving forward and does not apply retroactively to previous forms. Check out IPPS-A’s
DD Form 214 page for the latest guidance and training resources.
Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in CRM Cases
The IPPS-A Customer Support Team has noticed some users have included PII (specifically Social Security numbers) in their CRM Cases.
Please note that your SSN
should not be added to any of the IPPS-A Customer Support Module pages and fields, including the Problem Summary, Description Fields, and Notes sections.
Instead, we recommend using identifiers such as your DoD ID and IPPS-A Employee ID numbers.
