Teammates,
This January marked two years since IPPS-A Release 3 launched to more than 1.1 million Soldiers across all components. I want to thank our HR Pros and Soldiers in the field. We could not have done this without you! I’m looking forward to having this same level of engagement and enthusiasm for IPPS-A throughout 2025.
Some key updates and guidance:
Year-Month Available to Move (YMAV)/Service for Analytics and Business Intelligence Reports (SABIR) Update
COMING SOON: IPPS-A will be enhancing
SABIR! The assignment end date will still be displayed, but will no longer be used as a loss predictor; instead, YMAV data will be incorporated into the SABIR strength projection logic. A Soldier will be projected as a loss in the month their YMAV will expire.
SABIR will also include Personnel Management Authorization Document (PMAD) authorizations. The PMAD is used in conjunction with the Updated Authorization Document (UAD) to distribute Army personnel based on Active Component Management Guidance (ACMG), priority of fill, and available inventory. PMAD authorizations will enable organizations to view their max fill for any given Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) and Grade combination.
Please stay tuned for additional updates, and thank you for your patience.
Validating Preferred Method of Contact in IPPS-A
On 25 January 2025, IPPS-A began providing Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS) with the email addresses that Soldiers have identified as their primary or “preferred” addresses in IPPS-A. The email address that ATRRS uses is another avenue for communicating important school notifications.
If you have not been receiving emails from ATRRS and/or would like to update the preferences for what email address ATRRS has on file, please log into IPPS-A and make sure the right email is entered. (Log into IPPS-A and search for “Personal Details,” select the Contact Details tab, enter/confirm the email address, choose “Preferred,” then save).
Keep in mind that if you use an email other than an army.mil address as your
preferred email, ATRRS notifications may be going to the spam folder of your preferred email. These notifications will also be sent to your army.mil email.
Please note, if you delete the army.mil address in IPPS-A and it is set as your “business” email, your army.mil email will automatically repopulate as the preferred email. Additionally, if a personal email is set as the preferred notification method, just know that address (e.g.,
johndoe123@gmail.com) will show in the routing. Therefore, please be careful about what preferred email you decide to use.
Submitting a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Event
I mentioned in my last message the importance of properly submitting PCS absences. Please remember that, using IPPS-A’s Pay-Absence-Incent-Ded (PAID) tile, you
must select “Absence Type, 05-PCS Events” and choose the appropriate options to complete the request for your PCS absence. If “05-PCS Events” is not selected, automation to support arrivals will not function as designed, causing Failure to Gain (FTG) numbers to increase and issues with pay.
Please refer to the
Submitting a PCS Event Quick Sheet. This product will help guide you through the process and provide you with additional training resources.
