HOT TOPIC: Upload up to 8MB to PARs, BAH Recertification, & More

7 NOV 2024: Upload up to 8MB to PARs
Attention HR Professionals, Commanders, and Self-Service Personnel Action Requests (PAR) Users! Thank you for submitting feedback. Users are now able to attach larger files (up to 8MB) to PARs. Only attach REQUIRED documentation. The ability to attach larger files will cut down on upload times, leading to enhanced user experience. For more information visit: http://spr.ly/6189SSAQS

31 OCT 2024: BAH Recertification
Please note that when you submit your first entry for BAH Recertification in IPPS-A, the system will recognize and display it as a “Start” entry. This is not an error, IPPS-A did not convert previous BAH data, so the first BAH action in IPPS-A will record as the “start” entry. The status of “recertification” will change the following cycle when the dates are adjusted for the new period, and it is routed for approval.

For additional support, please refer to the BAH Recertification Job Aid linked here: https://ipps-a.army.mil/Training/Training-Aids/

17 OCT 2024: Switchover/Switchback Exercise
IPPS-A needs your assistance! We will be executing a server switchover/switchback exercise to test the system's ability to change from primary to secondary data center during a potential disruptive event or real-world disaster.

The exercise will occur at 1800 ET on Thursday, 24 October through 1845 ET on Saturday, 26 October 2024.

This is a federally mandated annual event designed to improve the system. For more information or to participate, please see details on S1NET.

18 SEPT 2024: DD93 Dependent Phone Number

Soldiers, please check your DD93 Form! We are aware that in some cases when a Servicemember is trying to update their dependent's phone number the system may incorrectly pull the wrong number. This only displays incorrect on the DD93 update page BUT is correct on the actual DD93 form that is submitted to iPERMS. To verify the correct phone number is being populated, click "Generate DD93 Form" after completing updates.
Work to fix this issue is still on-going. Stay tuned for updates.

28 AUG 2024: Absence Requests

To enhance system stability and improve latency, attachments added to Absence requests that are greater than 60 days old from the absence end date will be removed from IPPS-A. This also includes attachments for Special and Incentive Pay requests after 60 days after the end date of the transaction. This update will take place on 5 September 2024.

12 AUG 2024: Absence Supervisor Issue
Your Soldiers may not be able to find their Approver via the search function (magnifying glass icon) on the initial landing page, "PAID Absences."

Our technical team is assessing upgrades to the system that will prevent this issue moving forward. In the meantime you must log into IPPS-A and complete the following steps to be able to action items for your Soldiers.

Supervisors will:
1) Select the Access Request tile on the Self-Service Homepage
2) Locate "New Access Request"
3) Scroll down to the New Requested Security Settings section, select Show New Roles
4) Find role, IP_HCMWF_APPROVER, select the checkbox on the left of the title
5) Continue to fill the Access Request, select Submit
Once the request has been approved through standard unit workflow, this action will allow Supervisors to approve absences at routing.

Thank you for your continued support and patience as we improve IPPS-A.
