IPPS-A Update: Addendums for Orders, Terminal Absences, Drive the Change and Resources

Teammates,

Thank you for continuing to navigate the system and quickly bring issues to our attention for resolution. We could not do this without the help of HR Professionals and Soldiers in the field. Your engagement and enthusiasm for IPPS-A is greatly appreciated.

As we continue to make progress, I’d like to provide you with some updates and guidance:

Addendums for Orders

We have begun implementing new functionality allowing you to amend certain items in orders, without having to submit addendums.

For example, users must amend entitlement changes on orders published after 1 May 2024. We are working to add features that allow all order items to be amended without having to submit addendums and are looking to include these in a future release(s).

Please refer to the Valid PCS Order Addendums document for what items still require addendums. For the time being, all other items should follow the process of amending the orders within IPPS-A.

Terminal Absences

Our team recently identified an issue with Terminal/Transition Absences; these absences are chargeable, impact pay, and must end on the day of separation (DOS). Once a Terminal Absence triggers, it may override any absence out to the DOS.

If a member has several absences that existed prior to their DOS, they must review them to ensure all previous absences are posted to the Defense Joint Military Pay System (DJMS).

Soldiers who elected to sell their Terminal Absence must ensure that all absences post to DJMS to prevent any out-of-service debts or delays in final separation payments. I also encourage Soldiers to check myPay to confirm that leave was charged.
