IPPS-A Update: 1-Year Anniversary, PAIs, Latest Job Aids and Resources

Dear Gentle Reader,

We are quickly approaching the one-year anniversary of Release 3 going live for HR Professionals and Leaders in all three components. It’s hard to believe that only 12 months ago, we were entering the Brownout/Cutover (BOCO) phase and ensuring system access to those who needed it.

We’re always looking to the future, but this time of year gives us a good opportunity to reflect upon the milestones we’ve passed and the goals we achieved throughout 2023.

Since Go-Live, we’ve processed more than 2,500,000 pay transactions at a ~99% accuracy rate. We’ve trained nearly 42,000 HR Pros through IPPS-A’s learning management platform. We’ve also remained accountable to our fellow Soldiers — processing more than 250,000 Customer Relationship Management (CRM) cases.

Speaking of CRM cases, I want to give a special thank you to the following Service Members who have closed/resolved the most cases per COMPO since Go-Live:

  • Active – SPC Alberto Colon-Cabrera, 176th Financial Management Support Unit, Camp Humphreys, South Korea.
  • ARNG – SSG Bethzaida Gonzalez-Lanham, 729th Quartermaster Company, Sykesville, Maryland.
  • USAR – SFC Michael Sneed, Reserve Personnel Management Directorate, Human Resources Command (HRC) Ft. Knox, Kentucky.
These individuals are providing outstanding service to their fellow Soldiers and helping to drive change – thank you!

This year, we’re introducing better ways to update the system, streamline improvements, and simplify workflows.

We could not have done this without the help of HR Pros and Soldiers in the field. Your engagement and enthusiasm for IPPS-A over the past year is greatly appreciated.

As we continue to make progress, I’d like to provide you with some updates and guidance:

Personnel Asset Inventories

To improve the accuracy of accountability and slotting data in IPPS-A, all COMPOs must conduct Personnel Asset Inventories (PAIs). This will enhance projected strength reporting within IPPS-A and the Defense Readiness Reporting System – Army (DRRS-A).

Active Component Commanders will conduct PAIs between 1 February 2024 and 15 March 2024.

Army National Guard (ARNG) and United States Army Reserve (USAR) will conduct 100 percent personnel accountability of service members between 1 February 2024 and 31 May 2024.

No later than 29 December 2023, all Commanders of Army Commands (ACOMs), Army Service Component Commands (ASCCs), Direct Reporting Units (DRUs), ARNG and USARC, must submit a reporting scheme for subordinate commands in support of HRC/Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA) Defense Collaboration Services (DCS), G-1 tracking; these should annotate organizations that must conduct PAI early due to mission requirements.

Please submit via email to: usarmy.knox.hrc.mbx.isb-ipps-a-functional-team@army.mil.

Note: In conjunction with the PAI, ACOMs, ASCCs, DRUs, ARNG, and USARC will publish guidance to their subordinate elements to validate and correct assignment end dates.

For more information, please refer to the HQDA EXORD 024-24 Army-Wide Personnel Asset Inventory (PAI) (Final) on S1Net.
