Teammates,
I am both excited and thrilled to have the honor of being the IPPS-A FMD Director. While serving as the FMD Deputy over the past two years, I have seen us achieve tremendous successes. I know we will continue to build upon this progress together. I want to take this time to express my appreciation for your support, and thank you for your continued engagement and enthusiasm for IPPS-A.
My sincerest gratitude to COL Rebecca Eggers, who has done a stellar job of leading us through a time of significant transition and helping to bring about the successful sustainment of IPPS-A Release 3. It has been a privilege working alongside such a capable leader, and I wish her well in her next endeavor.
Please join me in welcoming our new IPPS-A FMD Deputy COL Adam “Avi” Grein, who joins us after serving as the Warner Burke Senior Military Fellow at Columbia University. I look forward to working closely with Avi on finding creative and effective ways to further develop this system and continue to improve the lives of Soldiers and their families.
Enhancement Upgrade
As a reminder, the enhancement upgrade that was previously planned for earlier this month is now scheduled for 2000 on Saturday, 22 July through 2000 on Sunday, 23 July 2023. Please note that this update will change the look and feel of the IPPS-A homepage, search functionality, and navigation tools. Check out this video for details:

(YouTube).
We will provide any necessary updates to the field regarding planned outages.
Workflow Update
We are updating the Access Request workflow to meet audit requirements. Beginning Sunday, 23 July 2023, Soldiers will have to add their supervisor to their Access Request, as they should know what level of access their Soldier needs to complete their mission. Open/in flight access requests will no longer be actionable once the update occurs on 23 July 2023, and will need to be resubmitted.
IPPS-A is an integrated system, so a user performing actions in areas they are not properly trained in, and/or should not have access to, can have unintended consequences for Soldier benefits. Please refer to the attached graphic, which shows the addition of Supervisor in routing.
Thank you for supporting your units throughout this process. Your leadership is helping our Soldiers meet the mission requirements of today and of the future.
Please let us know if you have any questions — we are here to help. Thank you and keep up the great work!
Thank you.
