The year is flying by! We’re already marking six months since the Integrated Personnel and Pay System-Army (IPPS-A) went live! The deployment follows years of dedicated teamwork, and is a part of the Army’s commitment to People First.
To date, IPPS-A is the largest PeopleSoft implementation across the Army and the largest Enterprise Resource Planning implementation in the world. Considering the magnitude of merging dozens of duplicative systems, this is a tremendous accomplishment. Since Go-Live, Soldiers have become more familiar and comfortable with the system – but there is still work to do! The team continues to focus on system stabilization and addressing defects, and has relied on feedback from the field to enhance IPPS-A. User input has been monumental to improving the system!
The past few months have also brought great opportunities to tell the IPPS-A story and publicly credit many whose hard work and dedication brought a modern HR system to the Army. On 8 May 2023, Team IPPS-A attended Quest/Oracle’s BLUEPRINT 4D in Dallas, where groups came together to learn, share, and network. COL Rebekah Lust, IPPS-A FMD Deputy, presented the Army’s technological journey leading to Go-Live and highlighted the program’s strategic partnership with Oracle, benefits for Soldiers, and what it could mean for the broader Oracle user community.
On 22 May 2023, COL Robert “RJ” Mikesh, IPPS-A Project Manager, and COL Lust presented at IPPS-A Industry Day. Topics focused on Go-Live, the contributions of Army personnel throughout the process, and what IPPS-A’s needs are going forward. IPPS-A is helping to modernize the way we put people first. Moving forward, the team will continue to focus on people by augmenting capabilities and customization that further enhance users’ experience.
