There are over 600 individual data elements, critical to a Soldier’s
human resources record managed by IPPS-A Release 2.
There are two types of data in IPPS-A. First is data that IPPS-A is responsible for maintaining and updating, and the second type is data that exists to better illustrate or contextualize the first type. Before IPPS-A transitions to Release 3, the Army National Guard (ARNG) data held by IPPS-A needs to be as up-to-date as much as possible. The National Guard Bureau (NGB) Liaison Officer (LNO) team will be providing specific guidance on how to get ready for Release 3 through the Multi-System Transformation Advisory Group (MSTAG) and the monthly Deployment Integration Group (DIG) meetings. The LNO team expects to get a better understanding of the changes from Release 2 to Release 3 in early 2021.
