IPPS-A Update: APPSEC Requirements, MOS Accuracy, Fluid Monitor Approvals, Roadmap, Feedback, and Resources
Teammates,
Please see updates, guidance, and resources below:
Reminder of APPSEC Requirements
As of May 11th, 2026, access request forms were modified to include ROWSEC (Row Level Security) validation. As a result, all members must submit new requests for recertification.
Recertifications: Due to the update, all members attempting to recertify their access must submit a new access request. Once the new access request has initially been approved by the appropriate validators, the recertification process will resume as normal.
Please remember, when submitting a new access request a statement of justification is required in the comment section if you are requesting WORLD ROWSEC
.
Stay up to date on the latest by reading
Updates to APPSEC
and listening to our next podcast episode, scheduled to release June 25

Improving MOS Accuracy
Accurate Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) data is essential for key personnel actions, including promotions, assignments, hiring, rehiring, and retention. In the past, inconsistent data in IPPS-A led to incorrect MOS histories and process delays.
To ensure your records are always accurate and system errors are prevented, IPPS-A released a new standardized method to address these data gaps, improve readiness and data integrity.
What Changed?
Fully Automated Updates:
Any system transaction updating an MOS on the Person Profile page will now automatically pull the correct value directly from authoritative data sources.
Manual Edits Disabled:
To protect data integrity, members and HR Professionals can no longer manually edit, update, or change an MOS in Person Profiles. ONLY HR System Admins can update, add, and/or delete job codes from the Person Profile page.
Default Job Codes (Promotions/Demotions):
Proposed job codes will be populated according to a default entry based on effective date and rank with Personnel Action Requests (PARs) now automatically routed to the career path table. If the default entry is not correct, they can be changed for exceptions to policy.
Please note, it is best to enter one job code at a time. As a reminder, members can only have: one “active” Primary MOS (P); one “active” Secondary MOS (S); and zero to many “active” Additional MOS (Z). If violated, the system will display an error with descriptions to correct before saving.
By removing manual entries and relying on authoritative data, we are ensuring that critical career decisions are always based on accurate, reliable information. Updates like these are made possible through Agile Software Development, learn more:

Fluid Monitor Approvals
Our Team’s latest update to the Monitor Approvals page introduces a fluid user interface, collapsible filters, expanded search options, and transaction originator visibility - saving valuable man hours.
The Monitor Approvals page will now prioritize transactions that require action and reduce visibility of completed statuses such as Approved, Processed, or Terminated
unless
selected in the filter criteria.
Users may also apply additional filters and view the transaction originator directly within the results — improving visibility, reducing redundancy, and enabling a more efficient focus on pending actions.
These enhancements are designed to streamline approval management by helping HR Professionals quickly spot actionable transactions and minimize screen redundancy.

IPPS-A Roadmap
I encourage everyone to check the IPPS-A Roadmap regularly. The roadmap provides clear visibility into our major forecasted development efforts, including goals, milestones, timelines, key tasks, and dependencies.
Following the roadmap helps you stay informed about what’s coming next and how each effort supports continued improvement across the system.
Updated versions of the roadmap are published routinely on our social media channels and on our website at:
https://ipps-a.army.mil/Future-Capabilities
.
Your Feedback is Important
Once your IPPS-A CRM case is resolved, please complete the brief survey sent via system notification. While the survey includes standard ratings, we highly encourage you to provide detailed comments in the "Additional Feedback" field to help us improve your experience. Please note that feedback is not anonymous and remains linked to your case to facilitate follow-up and ensure a better understanding of your encounter.
