IPPS-A Updates: Agile Improvements to MOSI, DD Form 93, New APPSEC Requirements, Farewell Message, etc.

Teammates,

Please see updates, guidance, and resources below:

Agile Improvements to MOSI
Agile software development continues to deliver great enhancements — this time to Military Occupational Specialty Inventory (MOSI) within IPPS-A’s Leader’s Dashboard. Here’s what’s new:

Strength Trend Analysis: New interactive graphs and comparison views allow you to track data over time, not just in the moment.

Design Improvement: We’ve overhauled the entire user interface. It’s cleaner, faster, and more intuitive.

Legacy Reliability: Everything you loved about the old MOSI is still here — just better.

Updates like these are possible because of your feedback and the IPPS-A Agile software development model! Submit your feedback on this tool here:

Updates to DD Form 93
Improving DD Form 93, “Record of Emergency Data,” means ensuring accuracy of vital information, enhancing Soldier readiness, and streamlining HR processes — reducing digital burden and improving the Soldier Experience.

The IPPS-A solution is a modernized and integrated approach; empowering Soldiers to manage their own form online through the DD Form 93 dashboard. Recent enhancements include:

  • Self-Service Updates for Significant Life Events (No More Scheduling Appointments with Your S1!)
  • Ability to Add Next-Of-Kin
  • Elimination of Manual Processing (Updates Automatically Fed to iPERMS)
  • Auto-Generation Capabilities to Eliminate Manual Entry Errors

New APPSEC Requirements
Attention Soldiers! Important updates and guidance to IPPS-A Application Security (APPSEC), access, and roles.

To comply with recent program guidance and audit requirements, the Commander subcategory (SUBCAT) designation is being removed from all Enlisted Service Member profiles in the system. Sergeants Major (SGMs) and Command Sergeants Major (CSMs) are exempt from this update and will maintain their current SUBCAT designation.

Members who had the SUBCAT Commander removed have the ability to request the Manager or Leader SUBCAT under the Commander Category.

There are NO requirements for users to resubmit a new access request.

Furthermore, starting May 7th, WORLD ROWSEC will be locked. All new requests must be approved at the following levels.
  • Active Duty / COMPO 1 approved at Human Resources Command (HRC) Enterprise Modernization Directorate (EMoD) Office
  • National Guard / COMPO 2 approved at National Guard Bureau (NGB) Training Office
  • Army Reserve / COMPO 3 approved at United States Army Reserve Command (USARC) Manning Division
If IP_HCMPD_WORLD (WORLD ROWSEC) is selected, the request will automatically route to the Principal Validator. Field Users are NOT authorized to approve WORLD ROWSEC. All requests must provide a statement of justification.

Please note, there is no change to the current process for ROWSEC access below WORLD.

A Farewell Message
It has been an honor to serve as the IPPS-A FMD Director. Since joining the program in 2021 and becoming the Director in 2023, I have been immensely grateful for the tremendous successes we achieved together. I extend my sincerest gratitude to the entire IPPS-A Team for your stellar work and invaluable support, and to the Total Force users for your feedback and collaboration, which have been crucial to the system's sustainment and improvement through a significant transition.

Our collective focus has always been to improve the lives of our Soldiers and their families. We have — and will always be — committed to transforming how the Total Army interacts with each component by replacing industrial-age personnel systems with integrated, data-driven capabilities that bring efficiency, transparency, and mobile access.

As I transition from my role, I leave the program in very capable hands with COL Alicia Pruitt serving as interim Director. Please also join me in welcoming our incoming IPPS-A FMD Director, COL Leonard Baklarz, who returns to the program this summer. He already has an extensive background supporting IPPS-A, and I am confident he will effectively continue to develop this system and build upon our progress.

Thank you for your continued enthusiasm and engagement in this vital program.
