IPPS-A Updates: PCS Reminders, Agile Improves Soldier Experience, Access and Account Management Guidance and Religious Accommodations PAR

Teammates,

Please see updates, guidance, and resources below:

PCS Reminders
New this year, Soldiers placed on assignment will receive an email from IPPS-A titled "Member Elections". Information provided in the member elections will feed units, installations, and other entities to build efficiencies and reduce stress on Soldiers and Families.

This email includes a new required questionnaire, specific to the assignment. The questions are designed to gather a comprehensive understanding of circumstances, individual needs, and specific requirements.

Soldiers MUST complete this questionnaire to determine eligibility for various entitlements and finalize the PCS process, allowing Soldiers to receive official orders. All determinations are based on official regulations.

This new process improves the Soldier Experience by simplifying and expediting crucial steps, including entitlement determination, dependent travel, and more, to ensure a smooth and efficient transition to the follow-on assignment. Let us know your experience this season by answering our one-question poll on Facebook.

#EngageYourArsenal by listening into this month’s podcast on PCS & Member Elections with HR Officer, MAJ Ashlie N’Tham Nkwansa and Senior HR NCO SFC Carlos Briceno — and by visiting our PCS webpage.

The Agile Methodology Improves Soldier Experience Across the Total Force
IPPS-A's Agile process continues to deliver valuable features faster, offering greater flexibility and adaptability and building confidence and understanding across the Army.

Agile software development means:
  • Faster Delivery of Enhancements
  • Better Responsiveness to User Feedback
  • Increased Transparency
  • Improved Collaboration Across Teams
  • More Reliable and Higher-Quality Releases
  • Ability to Adapt to Changing Army Requirements
  • Empowered Users
We take Soldier feedback seriously. Since Go-Live, we’ve incorporated 121 CRM Enhancement Requests; meaning the system is shaped by the people who use it — making IPPS-A more intuitive and effective. Recent absence request updates provide the option to select previously used contact information, so no more re-typing email and addressees every time. This is a perfect example of “You asked, we delivered.”

Other releases in March also included the Warrant Officer Bonus Auction Personnel Action Request and the Open Marketplace. The feedback on this auction will inform the Army’s critical efforts on Warrant Officer retention. The Open Marketplace now includes options for all components to use this platform to enhance the progression of their Army careers. More Market information from ARNG and USAR will be forthcoming.

Access and Account Management Guidance
We recently shared the new Access and Account Management Guidance Memo. It establishes comprehensive guidance for access provisioning and audit awareness within IPPS-A to ensure the highest standards of data security, confidentiality, integrity, and accountability. It also provides guidance for various violations and guidelines for issuance and utilization of IPPS-A accounts. Our work on ensuring compliance is ongoing, and we will continue to communicate requirements to the field.

Religious Accommodations PAR
IPPS-A will soon allow Members to submit Religious Accommodations requests for grooming, uniform, and appearance by creating a Personnel Action Request (PAR).
A Job Aid and Quick Sheet will soon be available on our Training Aids page: https://ipps-a.army.mil/Training/Training-Aids/. For more information, please review: HQDA EXORD 263-25.
